What does Morse Code sound like?

Actually, the sound of Morse code is surprisingly familiar isn't it? Even to new hams - we hear it in old movies, on TV, in music and other odd places.

I've started to study Morse Code, but so far progress is slow - I've only mastered about half the alphabet. It's given me a new appreciation of early radio communication though, so even if I never gain mastery of it, the study hasn't been wasted.
The following sound files are helping me practice - these are the sounds are the letters of the alphabet followed by the numbers, at different pitches.
